Video Upconversion up to 1080p Resolution via HDMI
For an amazing viewing experience on today's HDTVs, the DR420 will upconvert lower-resolution video to full 1080p resolution.
One Touch Recording
One Touch Recording makes recording your favorite show simple. Just connect your DVD recorder/VCR to your cable or satellite box and you are set to record with the push of one button. (Note that the DR420 does not have a built-in tuner, so a box or receiver will be necessary.)
Multi-Format Recording and Playback
The DR420 provides the utmost in recording media convenience, with compatibility with the most popular formats (DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW). Users can easily create edits such as renaming titles and chapter creation (manual and auto).
For playback, the DR420 also has you covered. Enjoy your favorite DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW discs. Or crank up some of your favorite music, whether it's a CD, CD-R/RW, or an MP3/WMA CD for hours of listening. Finally, your family can enjoy pics from the latest trip or event with playback of JPEG picture CDs.

This feature simplifies the recording process by automatically finalizing your recording for playback on standard DVD players.
REGZA-LINK
REGZA-LINK makes controlling multiple components easy. Connect this player to a compatible REGZA-LINK television using an HDMI cable, and then control them both using one remote, with no additional programming or setup required.
Front DV Input
Capturing memories from your digital video camera is a snap with the Front DV input. Just connect with a commercially available mini DV/Firewire cable and you're ready to record (S-Video and Composite video/audio inputs also available).
Quality Audio
You'll enjoy excellent audio reproduction thanks to the DR420's 192kHz/24-Bit D/A converter. Enjoy recording and playback of Dolby Digital two-channel, L-PCM formats, or add a little space to your sound with the 3D virtual surround effect.
